The all-electric LDV EV80 panel van has a 56 kWh lithium-ion-phosphate EV battery. The electric van has a claimed range up to 120 miles (NEDC). Of course, the real-world e-range will be lower, impacted by a number of factors. A 90 miles e-range will be more realistic.

The e-van offer DC charging capability up to 30kW DC and can be charged up to 80% in 90 minutes. The EV80 incorporates a 6.6kW AC (single-phase) onboard charger as standard. However, the manufacturer does offer an option to upgrade to a three-phase onboard AC charger. If you have access to three-phase EV charging, we would recommend upgrading. Using a single-phase EV charger, it will take up to 7 hours for a full charge.

According to the automotive manufacturer, the LDV EV80 is “the most sophisticated electric power system high-capacity lithium ion phosphate battery, permanent magnet synchronous electric motor controller bringing you high-efficiency and steady power output.” The EV has a high power PMSM power: 92 kW and 320 NM of torque (123 hp).

The LDV electric van is available in a high roof (5700 mm x 1998 mm x 2552 mm) and medium roof (5700 mm x 1998 mm x 2345 mm) option. Both have a wheel base of 3850 mm and can achieve 0 to 62 mph in 24 sec. The Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) is 3,500 kg and the Unladen Vehicle Weight (UVW) is 2,495 kg.

Standard interior features include, air conditioning (front), power windows (front), three-seater cabin, driver’s seat with arm rest and FM/AM/MP3 player, electric park brake system, digital intelligent CVT and a single sliding door for easy access.

The electric van is eligible for the UK government plug-in van grant for the ‘large vans’ category. These vehicles are between 2,500kg and 4,250kg gross vehicle weight, have CO2 emissions of less than 50g/km and can travel at least 96km (60 miles) without any emissions at all. The grant will pay for 35% of the purchase price for these vehicles, up to a maximum of £5,000.

The EV80 is also available in the MiniB variant, MiniB Wheelchair variant and the EV80 Chassis Cab variant. Bottom-line, electric driving is good for the environment and the wallet! You can lease electric vans via e-zoomed at competitive prices.
